Is obsidian walking the blackberry path? It seems to do everything I need except allowing me to run the server side on my own hardware. Am I missing something?

Was thinking about "logic" in biology while reading Nick Lane's book "Power, Sex, Suicide" (ignore the catchy title; it's a great book). Not every logic applied by someone who studies nature is automatically bio-logic. In summary and retrospect, I would say that most of the logic I have used in my years in biology was math, physics, or engineering logic. Very little was truly bio-logic. Nick Lane, by contrast, argues very logically that bacterial design prevented them from growing and evolving the complexity of the higher organisms that surround us today. What I am trying to say is this: determine and address the root question (challenge) in what you do as early and as rigorously as possible.

I have been driving a Tesla Model 3 for 5 years (bought it right after Tesla announced it had added Bitcoin to its balance sheet). A great car, very reliable. But I wonder why Tesla would constantly nag you about driving a little bit too fast, breaking a little too late (like having grandma on the passenger seat), or watching something else for 5 seconds when you are alone on the road, _and_ refusing to re-activate the USD 7k full-self-driving package after ignoring their nanny advice for a few times (happened to a friend). All this while Elon is spearheading sovereignty and free speech. Drove a Taycan the other day just to see that all the nanny functions can easily be switched off using the standard user interface.

It's funny to see people reposting Jack's notes with almost anyone following Jack in the first place.

Downloaded the latest @blockstream green wallet (2.0.17) to a MacBook Pro (Ventura 13.7.2) from blockstream.green. The software crashed immediately upon startup (I tried it on two different laptops). Then, I resorted to the previous version (2.0.16), which worked as expected. I hope that no newcoiners will experience the same.

My goal for Q1 is to ramp up my computing setup: put redundant components in place for instant fail-over switching, and create more capacity for Bitcoin, lightning, cashu, and nostr. Everything without asking for permission and the certainty that Bitcoin will not fail should I screw up any of the config or wiring. The power of de-centralization goes goes far for all of us.
