Commission proposes an EU Digital Travel application for easier and safer travel

Today, the European Commission adopted two proposals to digitalise passports and identity cards, also called ‘EU Digital Travel application\

With "digitalisation" the border check can be reduced from 30 to 8 seconds. BUT.. to save 22 seconds, people must - Install an eu-LISA app - Scan their passport (NFC) and do an annoying liveliness check - Send their passport data and #biometrics to a central server with all the privacy risks that entail - Manually enter additional travel route info Is that making our travel easier?
