I'm glad I'm finally able to work on @npub1wa2m...zalq again, now that Pixelfed is becoming more stable. Loops presents a lot of exciting challenges like the FYP algo, federation, self-hosting, federated discovery, bandwidth optimizations and opt-in centralized double blind contact discovery. Just like with Pixelfed and the LitePub, Ephemeral Stories and Comment Control innovations I made, Loops will be pushing the boundaries for our mainstream TikTok alternative. P.S: We're hiring.

Also, as we grow, and become more of a dominant player on the fediverse, we need to be better than our predecessors and spread awareness of other fediverse projects! Pixelfed thrived in large part, because of the rest of the fediverse, and I feel we have a duty to give back to the next generation of projects and apps. We're stronger together ❤️

There is def a market for Mastodon and GtS, but most people just want to join an app that their friends are on. I get that, we need to act mainstream if we want to go mainstream, but that doesn't mean dark patterns, data selling and ads. It just means making it super simple to get people onboard, and then gradually educate them about the fediverse and account migration. Kind of like Threads, but open source 😎
