You probably heard the popular phrase "It is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism." I use it often but have grown to dislike it. At least in contexts where it can have discouraging effects. I think I want to use a variation of the phrase more often: "It is much more exciting and inspiring to imagine alternatives to capitalism than thinking about reforms to capitalism."
The #RevLeftRadio podcast did an episode about "technofeudalism". ' It is respectful towards those argueing that capitalism has changed into something qualitatively new. But with care and detail they explain how cloud- or platform-capitalism is (as of now) still a continuation of capitalism. And there is great practical value for us in the progressive digital policy movement to have a clear understanding of what we are up against (and what is mere rhetorical fluff).

Di Fabio weiß, dass die Deutschen auch das größte Unrecht ertragen können, wenn es dabei mit "Recht und Ordnung" zugeht. Die Kategorie "legal" ist eine politische Kategorie, die jenen dient, die das Recht machen und keineswegs ein Synonym für "gut" und "schlecht".

Für alle, die es nicht wissen: Die @Rote Hilfe e.V. ist nicht bloß eine wichtige linke Support-Infrastruktur, sondern auch ganz konkret unverzichtbar zB in der Unterstützung vieler aktueller antifaschistischer Bemühungen, nicht zuletzt den Protesten in Riesa oder Gießen gegen die AfD. Gleichzeitig gibt es Bundesländer, in denen man riskiert, nicht in den öffentlichen Dienst eingestellt zu werden, wenn man dort Mitglied ist.

That somebody backed up all the data from Spotify and made it available in raw is a pretty good example for what is actually at the core of platforms business models. It's not the data itself, it's the human behaviour: playlists, interactions, recommendations, ease-of-use and availability. Sure, you can listen to the music without the service, but what makes the service profitable is how it is made available and integrated into our lifes. The music isn't under control.
