In 2020, Podcasting 2.0 introduced the transcript tag after Apple had declined any changes for 15 years. However, in 2024, Apple finally adopted the Podcasting 2.0 transcript tag for Apple Podcasts. Beyond being a commendable and fair move by Apple, this marks a significant victory for open ecosystems, for podcasting as a whole, and for the Podcasting 2.0 initiative. It is our duty to celebrate this achievement, and it is my honor to do so at FOSDEM 2025.
