Linguists at the Australian National University have described a transcript from a meeting discussing Barnaby Joyceโs possible defection to Pauline Hansonโs One Nation Party as โcompletely indecipherableโ.
Linguistic expert Belinda Craigburn said the transcript contained a muddled mix of guttural noises, references to Woolworthsโ paper bags and the word โwind farmโ.
โIt reads like a malfunctioning UHF radio being attacked by a galah,โ Craigburn said. โInstead of a detailed conversation about policy, what we got was Pauline yelling โYeah but the thing is, BarnabyโBARNABYโno, listenโโ while Barnaby responded with a 14-minute story about a cow that got stuck in a gate. None of it resembled human languageโ.
Last year I bet on Gavin Newsom to win the 2028 US presidential election - got 15 to 1 - just checked the odds and heโs in to 4.5 to 1. Fingers crossed, eh?
