There's an excess of negative political commentary about Democrats on top of all the right wing propaganda. Even media companies that often appear to explicitly support Democrats (Crooked Media, MSNBC) take time out to slap Dems around. You won’t see any of them talking about how the Democratic Pittsburgh City Council just finished 2 years of work to eliminate middle and low income people’s medical debt. But if they can find a way to be divisive about some other local issue, they’ll jump on it.
The idea that "I can criticize Democrats more because I hold them to higher standards" doesn't hold up when it results in their unemployment and Republicans gaining power. After a while, people need to realize that this approach is toxic and not strategic.
