Maybe he thinks that if he keeps people up in arms about immigrants they won't notice he doesn’t have plans to lower their grocery prices. MAGA doesn’t care if someone came here or is here legally. They don’t want non-white immigrants, period, no matter how they got here. Maybe this could take a higher profile in people’s field of attention than an app ban. PEPFAR has saved over 25 million lives and has had a powerful effect on slowing the spread of AIDS around the world, helping the world get the epidemic under control. One particularly homophobic right group - The Heritage Foundation - claims that AIDS is a “lifestyle disease” (yes, beyond ignorant.) This is what we get with Republicans in charge. Thanks, non-Democratic voters. And fuck off, Jim Risch. I’m old enough to remember that Republicans said Kamala Harris was too close to famous people, but maybe none of these guys count as famous? Anyway, glad to see Trump is working hard on getting that inflation down. If this doesn’t work, nothing will. Trump Names Hollywood ‘Ambassadors’: Mel Gibson, John Voight, Sylvester Stallone:
So, just to summarize today’s events, Biden is still the President and Trump wants the CCP to spy on Americans.
I look forward to being able to read her work again. Jen Rubin exits Washington Post, joins Norm Eisen to launch new outlet countering ‘authoritarian threat’ | https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/13/media/jennifer-rubin-norm-eisen-contrarian-washington-post/index.html
This headline is bad. Republicans are mostly interested in dragging everyone backwards. What a waste of time to have to have a debate about women in the military and diversity. Both strengthen us. But Hegseth said he would only use merit for promotion and hiring. I absolutely support that. Using that criteria, he definitely should not be Secretary of Defense then. He fails in every respect. Hegseth softens stance on women in combat, calls for policies already in place: image
People in California are losing everything and half the left is posting about Gaza being the reason California is on fire and lying about Karen Bass and half the right is posting about DEI firewomen and racist bullshit and also lying about Karen Bass. You all know you both look like fucking assholes, right? Also, there’s no water department prepared for the whole area burning at one time. Los Angeles Burned, Now They're Coming for Karen Bass  - Word In Black:
Since we lost, I just expect them to get rid of the ACA anyway, but once again, elections have consequences. Fuck all the people who were eligible to vote and didn’t vote for Kamala Harris and/or spent their time saying both parties are the same, that Harris wasn’t perfect enough for you, or that the economy made you do it. You’re contributing to killing people, too. I hope President Biden is able to send federal aid to anyone affected by the California fires. One, because it’s decent and two, because Trump won’t do anything for them. Not because it’s mostly a blue area. And it’s not like there are no Republicans in LA county. But because Trump won’t help anyone anywhere ever at all. Hurricane, fire, flood. He’s not lifting a finger. Help people if you can and be grateful to first responders.
Democrats in the 2 winning races overperformed Kamala Harris’ November margin by about 3%. There will be a few more final mail ballots and provisional ballots, which should add to the Democratic numbers a little bit more. I wrote some postcards and did some text banking for these races. Please keep volunteering and working on elections. It matters. #Virginia #USElections Virginia Democrats maintain narrow legislative majorities after special election wins:
