Just occurred that the BBC is the most literal example of Conquest's third law in that it is actually run by a cabal of its enemies.
All political tribes can be hypocritical but the right's current level of hypocrisy on free speech is deliberate. It's an assertion of power not a blindspot.

My brief contribution to the bluesky discourse is that across all written social media there's been a tail off in use in the last few months because Trump's first few weeks caused a huge surge.
Looking at private school pupil numbers in the ISC census and they've fallen back to where they were in..... 2022. Not exactly the disaster many predicted....

OK now that I've read the white paper recommendations I'd say closing the care system to overseas recruitment is the single most substantive system change.
That can only plausibly work if salaries go up significantly.
Pro-tip: Norway, Sweden and Denmark have education departments.
