Honored to join the #HagueGroup at the Emergency Meeting on Gaza, called by Colombia & South Africa, 15–16 July in Bogotá. The Hague Group opens the door to a different future — rooted in law and accountability. Will other States walk through it? They should: they have an
Just to be clear. WAR CRIMES against the Palestinians are not a prerogative of ICC-wanted Nethanyahu, or Smotrich or Bengvir. Subsequent Israeli governments, without exceptions, have advanced settlement construction and connected crimes since the beginning of the occupation.
Why isn’t the genocide in Gaza being stopped? Because it pays—and racism justifies it. My upcoming report lays it bare. Palestinians have long been the testing ground for weapons, tech, and even agriculture. If you think you are not involved, you are naive. If you think you are safe—you are not paying attention.
I call it genocide because IT IS genocide. Defined by intent, not by method or means. Visible without magnification—if we look with context, at the victims: what they share is being part of a group, as such. Because of it, they get killed, tortured, maimed, starved, raped, massacred. In dozens or hundreds daily. Genocide is a process, not a single act. A collective act. A criminal venture. To end it, we must first be willing to see it. https://bird.makeup/@ryanrozbiani/1928828827649847566
Tragically, it’s already done: the West has sacrificed its credibility through decades of free passes granted to Israel. Millions in the West—for whom liberté, egalité, fraternité are universal values—are suffering. One path remains: sanction Israel and protection force in oPt.
Now that the wind is changing and everyone starts to oppose the Gaza meat-grinding: Netanyahu did not commit the genocide by himself. The problem will not be resolved by scapegoating him, ignoring the rest. 1. End genocide. 2. End occupation/annexation. 3. End apartheid.
Deeply moved by the flood of solidarity. Thank you, sisters, brothers—I’m fine. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: Palestine. I expect the UN and members of the Human Rights Council to speak out now—and shield me from the pack barking at my heels, everywhere.
🇮🇹: While Europe timidly begins to discuss sanctions against Israel, the Italian government not only rejects calls to halt arms exports, but continues to buy military technology from Tel Aviv—the same used to slaughter hundreds of civilians, women, and children, in Gaza and the West Bank, every other day. A dark and shameful chapter in Italy’s recent history. https://www.fanpage.it/politica/litalia-sanzioni-israele-alla-camera-le-mozioni-dellopposizioni-sulla-crisi-a-gaza/
❌Israeli army opens fire at an int'l delegation❌ The astonishment of so many upon realizing that the Israeli army makes no exceptions even for int'l diplomats and politicians, suggests they may not yet fully grasp the nature of both the Israeli army and the context in the oPt. [Something tells me the delegation has not encountered the settlers yet].
If governments now dare whisper “sanctions”, it’s because pressure—from people devastated by 20 months of uncensored genocide—works. But much remains pretense: sanction with one hand, arm & trade with the other. People must not stop now. Keep pressing.
