Facebook thoughtfully served up memories of our July 2016 trip to China today - a heritage trip for Kid3, who was born there. I was reminded that for a bunch of communists, China has a very keen eye for separating rubes from their money.

I’ve been thinking about a prestige series for HBO or Apple (better suited for them than Netflix or Prime I think) about the buildup to WWI. It’s such a great story on so many levels, and the modern series technique of flashbacks as backstory would work so well for it.
