In elementary school, my whole class acted in a theatrical performance. Many of the “cool kids” would purposely mumble through their lines, do the bare minimum, and not get into their roles at all. They did this to seem “cool” and not embarrass themselves. The thing is, from the audience’s perspective, it just comes off as lame. What is actually cool is really getting into character, allowing the lines to flow through you, and bringing the play to life through your total disregard for what others may think of you. This applies to all of life. View quoted note →
This is why being a hater, and calling everything cringe or autistic, isn’t as cool as it seems. To be fascinating, be fascinated. View quoted note →

“The realization I’m speaking of is not something like a belief. It is not an idea for the simple reason that the fundamental energy of the universe cannot be embraced in an idea. It cannot be embraced in a concept, in a form of words, in an explanation, because it eludes all classification, because it is the which than which there is no whicher, and therefore is not in any class.” — Alan Watts, Ecological Awareness image
“We use the word serious very frequently, where we should be using the word sincere. And the lack of proper delineation between these two words causes a great deal of confusion. It’s like the confusion about the word must. You must do this. Whether it’s a commandment, or whether it’s a condition, a state of affairs that simply is so. And so, in the same way, we need a clarification of must, and we need a clarification of serious. And it can be divided down into serious on the one hand, or sincere on the other.” — Alan Watts, The Joker image
