It's very on-brand for Mastodon to turn even more obnoxious & sanctimonious as we watch Bluesky sucking in tech Twitter. Ppl KNOW that Mastodon exists—& they hate it. The reasons why they hate it have been known for years but nothing has been done about it. Being condescending to users for wanting to be hand-held or have effective protections against the very reply guys that are going around scolding the impure is just proving them right. No amount of dirt-digging on Bluesky will change that.

People literally beg me to make a video about how to package PyPI packages, but few realize that the rounded number of viewers for that kind of content is zero, as the glorious failure of my tox/Nox video demonstrated. I’ll still probably do it because I smoke Gauloises without filters and hate success, but it’s easy to forget how few people actually care about PRODUCING FOSS.
