The 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 - only 12 TZ 2 were produced.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2
(Tubolare Zagato 2) is a rare, lightweight, front-engine, rear-wheel drive Italian sports racing car from 1965, designed by Zagato with a fiberglass body over a tubular chassis, built for GT-class racing with a 1.6L twin-plug engine producing ~170 hp, achieving significant class wins at events like the 12 Hours of Sebring, making it a highly prized collector's item.

Zagato created a stunning, aerodynamic fastback body from fiberglass, replacing the TZ1's alloy, with a single rear window for reduced drag and weight.

* Chassis: It utilized a lightweight, tubular spaceframe chassis, a rarity for GT cars of the era, allowing for incredible agility.

* Engine: An Autodelta-prepared 1570cc (1.6L) DOHC inline-four engine with twin-plug ignition and dry-sump lubrication produced around 170 bhp, reaching speeds over 150 mph (245 km/h)

*Performance: Weighing only 620 kg, the car could achieve 0-62 mph in under five seconds.

* Racing Success: Despite its small engine displacement, the TZ2 dominated the 1600cc GT class, winning major endurance races in 1965 and 1966.

* Rarity: Only about a dozen original TZ2s were ever built, making them extremely rare and valuable.

* Legacy: The TZ2 was Alfa Romeo's last front-engine GT racer before focusing on prototypes, solidifying its legendary status.

In essence, the Giulia TZ2 is a masterpiece of lightweight Italian engineering and design, representing the pinnacle of Alfa Romeo's GT racing efforts in the 1960s.
