The working class is the fundamental force that produces the material conditions necessary for the reproduction of society, and through our collective labor we not only create food, shelter, healthcare, education, transportation, and communication networks, but we also sustain and reproduce the conditions that allow every aspect of social life to continue functioning, so that even those who do not work, whether they are managers, bureaucrats, or capitalists, depend entirely on our labor for their survival, comfort, and social existence; without the organized activity of workers, society does not simply slow down, it ceases to exist as a functioning whole, because it is labor that structures social life itself.
Those who live off the labor of others without contributing to the production or reproduction of society are entirely dependent on the working class, and their wealth, privilege, and status exist only because of the efforts of organized workers; full stop. We do not need moral instructions from those who extract value without producing it, and no law, institution, or hierarchical authority can grant legitimacy to those who profit from exploitation, because the actual power in society lies with those who directly perform and organize labor collectively, and it is precisely through our solidarity, direct action, and self-organization that workers assert control over their lives and the conditions of social reproduction.
PowerBook exists at the point of production, in workplaces, factories, farms, and service sectors, where workers collectively organize, coordinate, and exercise direct control over the processes that sustain life, and it is through federated unions, assemblies, committees, and networks of mutual aid that the working class can deploy its strength to defend itself, resist exploitation, and challenge all forms of hierarchical domination, transforming the capacity to work into a capacity to shape society according to the principles of freedom, equality, and solidarity.
