Trump’s “America first” politics: Spends 40 billion dollars bailing out Argentina, then claims poor American’s cannot have food stamps, because his government has to “stay liquid”.
This is the most thought-provoking video I have seen this week: United 24 interviews a group of international soldiers fighting in Ukraine — A Briton, an Irishman, an American, an Australian. It is REALLY difficult to watch their statements about the importance of this war, and not question the political decision to NOT have our professional soldiers on the ground. I hope this important video gets a gazillion views. image
This thread is worth reading if you are a Google docs user. Short version: When you make a document in Google Docs, Google replaces all your hyperlinks with links that allows Google to monitor the interactions of everyone you share your document with. This hidden link replacement can potentially be used to build a model of your professional relations, where people who interact more with your content are considered a stronger relation. Think about the implications.
What a total embarrassment for the Trump regime! The so-called "Sandwich guy" who threw his sandwich at Trump's occupation forces in D.C., has been acquitted. Trump's appointed U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro first tried to throw him in jail on felony assault charges. When that did not stick, she tried to pursue a misdemeanour case, which has now failed as well, because jurors did not believe that the bread "exploded" and was a dangerous assault as claimed.
I feared this day would come: Trump puts human rights organisations on sanctions list and forces YouTube to delete their accounts, thereby erasing 700 videos documenting Israeli war crimes. As a political commentator on YouTube, this news is profoundly troubling for me. And yes, I clearly need a plan B.
Tuesday finally showed us, more and more people realize, that struggling people will never be saved by old men in private jets. A revolution is coming. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏿✊🏾✊🏼 #FeelingHopeful
Trump’s defence of the Trump tariffs as something which Chinese companies magically pay is not going so well, judging from this quote from yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing: “The tariffs are a tax.” — Chief Justice John Roberts. This quote is deeply problematic for Trump, because in the US, the power to impose taxes rests with Congress, not the President. Only Congress is allowed to impose taxes. Consequently, this case could punch a hole in Trump’s budget the size of Grand Canyon.
Have a wonderful day everybody. ✊🏽
Zohran Mamdani ran a truly impressive campaign. He rose like a comet to change America, and top Democrats are so afraid of his politics, they cannot even mention his name after he handed them victory. This is beyond shameful. #uspol
One day this social media exchange will be presented as evidence in a court room, and I cannot wait. image
